About Us

We are a collective of individuals hailing from the Carmel community dedicated to enhancing our local and global impact through service projects and fundraising efforts.

Our service club warmly welcomes all community members aged 18 and above, acknowledging the importance of accommodating those with hectic work and family commitments. Our activities are designed to be family-friendly, ensuring that everyone can participate.

Founded in 1936 by a visionary group of leaders, the Carmel Lions Club embarked on a mission to uplift and better the Carmel community when its population was just under 800.

Since then, the Carmel Lions Club has flourished alongside the growth of Carmel itself. We now boast a robust membership of over 90 individuals and have consistently ranked among the top clubs in Indiana and the entire United States.

Our diverse membership includes men and women of varying ages and backgrounds, representing a multitude of professions. Some members are proud Carmel natives, while others hail from different corners of the United States and the world.

One of our most renowned traditions is the August Fish Fry, an event that first graced our community in 1939. It holds the distinction of being the longest-running community event in Carmel, a testament to our enduring commitment to the community's well-being.

Mission Statement : To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Vision Statement: To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service

The Lions Club motto is We Serve, which to Lions means selfless service to others in need in our local communities. The word We is inclusive, which includes transparency relative to gender, religion, ethnicity, politics or nationality.
