The Carmel Lions Club strives to exemplify the universal Lions motto of “We Serve”. The Club does this in many ways, including service projects, monetary donations and community use of the clubhouse.
Service Projects included:
· Indiana Lions Cancer Control Fund
· Trinity Free Clinic
· Indiana Lions Speech & Hearing
· Homeless Veteran Assistance Foundation
· Indiana School For The Blind & Visually Impaired
· Leader Dogs For The Blind
· Collecting used eyeglasses and participation in SightNight
· Volunteering at the Upland eyeglass recycling center
· KidSight eye screening of local children and follow-up
· Salvation Army Bell ringing (#1 in Hamilton County)
· CET Science Fair Judging
· Parade marshaling for Carmel July 4th Parade
· Indiana Diabetes Youth “Camp Until a Cure”
· 3rd Grade Literacy Program
· Carmel Food Pantries
· Gleaners Food Bank - Food Distribution
In addition to service during Lions year, the Club donates the use of the clubhouse (either free of charge or at a reduced rate) to the following groups:
· Girl Scouts of Central Indiana
· Crossroads of America Council, BSA
· 4-H
· Other community groups
